First Aid/CPR/AED Training:
Medic First Aid - CPR - AED - A Health & Safety Institute (ASHI) Training Program
We can conduct First Aid - CPR - AED training for your teams. The training can be scheduled for up to two (2) sessions per day consisting of four (4) hours of training per session. The training can be performed at your facility or specified location.
The training consists of a video based presentation with the participants performing practical applications of the training components and an "Optional" written exam at the completion of the course. Note: if you request the written exam please allow an additional 30 minutes per session. Medic First Aid/CPR guide book and wallet card provided to each participant. This certification is valid for two years.
Components to be Covered:
Roles of the First Aid Provider
Approaching a Patient
Contacting EMS Providers
Basic Life Support Skills-CPR
Defibrillation-using and Automatic External Defibrillators
Bleeding & Shock
Choking
Specific First Aid problems such as injuries and exposures
Caring for the injury
Preventing disease transmission
Class evaluation-Written exam (optional)
OSHA Standard 1926.50 Medical services and First Aid
(b) Provisions shall be made prior to commencement of the project for prompt medical attention in case of serious injury.
(c) In the absence of an infirmary, clinic, hospital, or physician, that is reasonably accessible in terms of time and distance to the worksite, usually 3-5 minutes, which is available for the treatment of injured employees, a person who has a valid certificate in first-aid training from the U.S. Bureau of Mines, the American Red Cross, or equivalent training that can be verified by documentary evidence, shall be available at the worksite to render first aid.
OSHA Standard - 1926.23 First Aid and Medical Attention
First aid services and provisions for medical care shall be made available by the employer for every employee covered by these regulations.
